The Fans Celebrate All That Is Shania Twain
"Before Shania sang one note, she appeared to raucous applause. The microphone was turned toward the fans and tens of thousands of young girls sang 'Man, I feel like a woman,' creating the most memorable moment. Shania said it was a party at the start, but it wasn't only her party. It was primarily the fans' party, a chance to show their appreciation for all of her achievements: the songs, the attitudes, her presence and gifts to us, forging a new path of country rock, defining the genre as it has never been heard before her debut. Shania seemed to be in very good voice--no complaints, she cuts it--but there was a sense that she was trying to not over tax her voice. 'Breathe from your diaphragm,' she advised us. One might have sensed that she was applying a similar practices focus during her performance."
